Intake and Assessment

Entering treatment for substance use is hard whether it’s by personal choice, or if it’s being recommended or required by an outside source such as the court system, family, or employer. This is where it all begins.

The first step in establishing a recovery plan for substance use issues is a comprehensive assessment to determine your level of involvement with drugs and/or alcohol, and to establish appropriate treatment recommendations. This will allow you to make an informed decision about the care you receive.

The assessment process allows us to gather information. You will be encouraged to share openly your history of alcohol or other drug use. You will be asked to answer questions about your overall health (physical and emotional), your personal support network, and demographic information. An in-depth assessment usually takes two to three hours.

After the assessment, the assessing counselor will recommend a type of treatment based on safety concerns and medical necessity. The recommended treatment will occur on either an inpatient or outpatient basis. If you are assessed as needing treatment, you will be offered admission to one of our programs or offered referrals.

If you are ready to make a change, contact us today to schedule your assessment. We are conveniently located in the Smokey Point area of Arlington, Washington, and serve Snohomish County and beyond.
